Gentlemen if you haven't been paying attention to the Twilight series of novels by Stephenie Meyer, you probably should. She introduces her readers to a family of vampires living in a small town in Washington. The Cullen family is supposedly made up of a mother and father, and five siblings who are of high school age.

One of these siblings, Edward Cullen, has had a profound influence on thousands of female readers. Mrs. Meyer has done a masterful job of creating qualities that literally make women fall in love with Edward. I have seen this effect personally, and it is quite astonishing. It must also be understood that although this series was aimed at the teen market, thousands of women have read these books also, and with the same results.

Some of the characteristics of Edward are obviously unattainable. Like the fact that he is a centuries old vampire, and is immortal! But there are some that can be mimicked and used in the pursuit of the opposite sex. Here are the three that I believe are keys to the fascination of women who read the Twilight series.

Mysteriously Unique- In the story Bella, the main character of the book, is first intrigued by the Cullens because they are so obviously different from the rest of her classmates at school. She is drawn to them by there shear disinterest in conforming. This is worth noticing, I believe, because most women want a man who is unique. Women crave having men that are singular and different than what other women have.

Strength- Bella always feels protected when she is with Edward. In fact, her only fear, when they are together, is that she will lose him. All women want to feel protected and safe when they are with their man. It is important to make them feel that way when you are with them.

Unwavering Devotion- Edward always shows complete adoration towards Bella, and she is bewildered with pleasure by this. This is a powerful lesson about how making a woman your entire focus when you are with them, is imperative to your success. Always make women feel special; it's a guaranteed winning strategy.

I suggest that you read Twilight and the rest of the series, if only to understand what women are passionate about in men. It can't hurt! Mrs. Meyer has touched a nerve in women, and given men some potent insight into what women want. Make sure your paying attention, because women are.
